OUR PROCEDURES

BESPOKE PATTERNS WORKS

The fabrics are precisely measured and cut by hand, including allowances. The garments are made to measure, tailored to each individual, a far cry from mass production that uses patterns adapted to standard sizes.

HANDMADE SEWING – ARTISAN TAILORING

Needles threaded with cotton basting thread are used to join the fabric to the interfacing. The basic stitches (basting, backstitch, blanket stitch) are done one by one, which is very time-consuming; the jacket requires 10,000 hand stitches and a minimum of 80 man-hours.

TRADITIONAL TAILORING TOOLS

Needles: For hand sewing. Thread: Made from natural fibers such as linen, wool, cotton, or silk. Metal thimble, scissors for cutting fabric and thread. Pins to hold the fabric in place. Sewing markers made from natural chalk such as kaolin.

FIRST AND SECOND FITTING

Maintaining the proper fit of the fabric over the surface of the human body without forming wrinkles, ensuring the balance of the garment’s shoulders and using widenings if necessary. In the case of suits made in standard sizes, this process does not exist. In simple terms: a bespoke suit is carefully adapted to the body, while standard-size suits do not allow for that level of personalized fitting.

DETAILS

The following details can be added according to the customer’s wishes: 1. Three, four, or five buttonholes on the sleeves, either hand-sewn or machine-sewn. 2. The person’s name can be embroidered by hand or machine on the inside chest pocket.
